Games still a go for the weekend!! Lady Indians and Indians baseball

As you know the weather has been a huge topic of discussion on the blog the past several days. It has been a huge story on the local and national news as it makes it's way through the deep South.

The Indians baseball team is set to travel to Lancaster, South Carolina to take on USC Lancaster this Saturday morning for a 4-game series. They will play double-headers on both Saturday and Sunday. I have again updated the weather forecast for Lancaster, South Carolina from the National Weather Service below:

INDIANS BASEBALL WEEKEND WEATHER FORECAST:

SATURDAY:

A chance of showers with a slight chance of thunderstorms in the morning...then showers and thunderstorms likely in the afternoon. Highs in the lower 70s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph...becoming south in the afternoon. Gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.

SUNDAY:

Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers in the morning...then mostly sunny in the afternoon. Breezy with highs in the upper 60s. Southwest winds 15 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Lady Indians Softball WEEKEND WEATHER FORECAST:

SATURDAY:

Mostly cloudy. A chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning...then showers and thunderstorms likely in the afternoon. Warmer with highs around 80. South winds 5 to 10 mph... increasing to around 15 mph in the afternoon. Chance of rain 60 percent.

SUNDAY:

Partly cloudy. A chance of showers in the morning. Highs in the lower 70s. Less humid. Southwest winds 15 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent.

After a very busy Wednesday, Thursday has been quiet. Updates on weather this weekend.

The USC Salkehatchie athletics programs were busy yesterday as the Lady Indians traveled to Sumter, South Carolina to take on USC Sumter. In a slow rainy afternoon, the Lady Indians were able to secure two victories over the Fire Ants.

In Allendale, South Carolina the Indians baseball team earned two much needed wins against Limestone College JV. The Indians were 3-7 in their previous 10-games and as coach Bubba Dorman put it, a win is a win.

Lady Indians Softball:

This weekend the Lady Indians will be at home on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday they will host Pitt Community College in a double-header. On Sunday they take on Patrick Henry Community College in another double header.

Lexington Red Hotts, softball team from Lexington, South Carolina to be on hand at Pitt Community College game to promote Breast Cancer Awareness

The Red Hotts a 9-11 year old recreational softball team from Lexington, South Carolina will be at the Pitt Community College game in Allendale, South Carolina this Saturday to help promote Breast Cancer Awareness.

The Red Hotts will have pink buckets and will be asking the fans at the game to support Breast Cancer Awareness as they raise money for research.

If you would like to support their cause, plan on attending Saturday's game!

The Red Hotts are excited about their trip to USC Salkehatchie as it will be the first time many of the young girls have ever attended a college softball game according to their head coach Trevor Kinard, "The girls can't stop talking about their upcoming trip to USC Salkehatchie. I have been asked 100 times if it is going to rain on Saturday. We are hoping for great weather and the trip to watch the Lady Indians play. I can't thank the USC Salkehatchie softball team enough for taking the time to come to Lexington, South Carolina to meet with our girls and kick off our Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign. We have had a lot of support in the community and it has been a great learning experience for the young ladies about giving back to their community."

Earlier this year, the USC Salkehatchie Lady Indians traveled to Lexington, South Carolina to kick of the campaign for the Red Hotts and sign autographs and just hang out with the young players.

USC Salkehatchie Indians Baseball Projected Weather For Weekend, As They Travel To USC Lancaster, South Carolina on Saturday and Sunday!

The USC Salkehatchie Indians baseball team is scheduled to travel to Lancaster, South Carolina on Saturday to take on USC Lancaster in an important Region X match-up.

The weather outlook according to the National Weather Service isn't looking favorable for baseball this weekend.

According to the National Weather Service:

Saturday and Saturday Night:

Showers and thunderstorms likely. Highs in the mid 70s. Lows in the lower 50s. Chance of rain 60% percent.



On Sunday, the weather is more favorable for baseball after a brief morning shower:


Sunday :

Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers in the morning... then mostly sunny in the afternoon. Breezy with highs in the upper 60s. Chance of rain 30 percent.

So far this season, the Indians baseball team has been very fortunate with the weather, as today the games we projected to be rained out but it held off until after the games, we can only hope for the same this coming weekend.

USC Lady Indians Softball Game Saturday Against Pitt Community College- 50% chance of rain

The USC Salkehatchie Lady Indians softball game against Region X foe, Pitt Community College, could be in jeopardy of being rained out; according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service is predicting:

Saturday
Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the lower 80s. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Lady Indians continue theme of the day by sweeping the USC Sumter Fire Ants

The USC Salkehatchie Lady Indians continued the trend of the day, by sweeping USC Sumter in Sumter, South Carolina. The USC Salkehatchie Indians baseball team, swept Limestone College (JV) earlier in the day.

In a very wet game two, the Lady Indians were able to outlast the Fire Ants for a 7-5 victory.

The Lady Indians are now 13-14 over-all and 4-2 in Region X.

Lady Indians Win Game 1 Against USC Sumter

The Lady Indians went to Sumter, South Carolina this afternoon looking to improve there over-all Region X record which was 2-2 headed into their game with USC Sumter.

The Lady Indians would succeed in a slow aggravating drizzle, that was just hard enough to wet players and fans alike. In what seemed like the world's longest softball game, it lasted over 2 1/2 hours, the Lady Indians defeated the Fire Ants 13-4.

The Lady Indians record is now 12-14 and 2-3 in Region X.

Game 2 is underway and once the score is reported, I will post it to the blog.

Indians complete sweep of Limestone College Saints JV

The USC Salkehatchie Indians baseball team completed the sweep of Limestone College this afternoon in a slight drizzle. The sky's above USC Salkehatchie baseball field looked as though they were ready to burst at any moment but the weather held off until the Indians were able to win the second game by a final score 4-2.

Dustin Pannell picked up his third win for the Indians this season, going into today's game he had a 2.42 ERA.

Indians win game 1 against Limestone JV

The USC Salkehatchie Indians baseball team was looking to restart their bats after going 3-7 in their last 10-games; in game one against the Limestone JV they did just that.

The Indians jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back, scoring in all 5-innings except one, the third.

Cam Louis and Oliver Santos had back to back home-runs and Brian Parsons almost made it three in-a-row with a long double of the left field fence.

The USC Salkehatchie Indians baseball program is out at the field in preparations for today's match-up with Limestone College (JV). If you recall this game was scheduled for February 18th but due to a freak snow storm that hit the Southeast, it was delayed until today.

The first pitch is still on for 2pm. I will bring you the game "Live" through Talkshoecom from and after each game is completed, I will add the final score to the blog. I will only be broadcasting game 1 from today's double-header.

Wednesday-Busy day for USC Salkehatchie Athletics, Indians Baseball Home, Lady Indians Travel to Sumter for Region X match-up

USC Salkehatchie Indians baseball and Lady Indians softball fans will have lots of action to follow tomorrow.

First the USC Salkehatchie baseball team will be at home in Allendale, South Carolina for a double-header against Limestone JV (Gaffney,SC) the first pitch is scheduled for 2pm.

The Indians baseball team is 13-14 over-all and 8-6 in Region X.

The Lady Indians will get back into Region X play in a much anticipated double-header match-up against USC Sumter in Sumter, South Carolina. The Lady Indians first-pitch is scheduled for 4 pm. The Lady Indians over-all record is 11-14 on the season and 2-2 in Region X.

Indians drop two at Middle Georgia this afternoon

The USC Salkehatchie Indians baseball team has fallen on hard times in the past 10-games, the Indians are 3-7.

It has been hard times but the Indians are still in the hunt for the Region X title. I know that Coach Bubba Dorman and Coach Jeff Wicker, will be working extra-hard to get the guys back on track.

I have stated this before and I will state it again, this team has talent. WDOG long-time owner and announcer of USC Salkehatchie baseball for over 20-years said, "This is the most talented team, I may have ever seen at USC Salkehatchie. This team has talent and is capable of beating anyone in the NJCAA."

Everyone that has seen them play, understands the talent is there, it is just going to take them coming together as a unit and expecting to win every time they step on the diamond.

In game two, the Indians were able to muster 5-runs but it wouldn't be enough as they fell by a final score of 9-5. Once we get the recaps, you can see them at www.uscsalkathletics.com

Allendale Fairfax Tigers set to play #1 Bamberg Ehrhardt at USC Salkehatchie TONIGHT!

The Allendale Fairfax Tigers will be hosting #1 Bamberg Ehrhardt in Allendale, South Carolina tonight. The first-pitch is scheduled for 6 pm, I know we have many avid baseball fans in the area, that enjoying watching baseball.

The visiting team Bamberg Ehrhardt from only 26 miles up Highway 301 is ranked #1 in Class 1-A, it should be a very interesting game.

Allendale Fairfax plays all their home games at the USC Salkehatchie baseball field located on the campus in Allendale, SC.

The Indians are underway in Cochran, Georgia and we are waiting on the results from the games! I am in hopes that a score comes in soon as I have had several emails from parents wanting to know the score.

The USC Salkehatchie baseball team has traveled to Cochran, Georgia in preparation to take on Middle Georgia College at 3pm.

The Indians go into today's contest with a 13-12 over-all record and a 8-6 Region X record.

Once I get any updates from today's action, I will add them to the blog.

Wednesday's Game VS Limestone Scheduled for 2 PM!!!

If you looked at the blog yesterday, you would have noticed that I had Wednesday's baseball game against Limestone as starting at 3 pm. I can tell you this one game alone is going to be the death of me, it is a double-header scheduled for 2 pm.

I had it as starting at 3 pm but to all the fans that are planning to attend, the game is scheduled for 2 pm in Allendale, South Carolina. I have changed the first post to the correct information but I was worried that fans might miss the start time, if I didn't once again post it to the blog.

Again, I am sorry if this has caused any inconvenience for you the fan.

NJCAA Division 1 Basketball National Champion Crowned

I have been asked through email by some of the USC Salkehatchie basketball fans, how the NJCAA Division 1 National Championship turned out.

March 25th game against Limestone at HOME!! First pitch scheduled for 2 pm (Double-Header)

I have been asked over and over about this Wednesday's game against Limestone and if it is in Allendale, South Carolina or in Gaffney, South Carolina.

The "Official" USC Salkehatchie athletic website has the game in Allendale, South Carolina in the UpComing Events section but in on the "Official" schedule it has it as being played in Gaffney, SC.

If you remember, the game was rescheduled from earlier this season, due to snow.

Once again, the game is scheduled for this Wednesday March 25th in Allendale, South Carolina with the first-pitch at 2 pm.

Make sure you check the blog often, I will let you know if this game is going to be carried by WDOG the Big Dog 93.5.

Sunday's games not much better for Indians baseball

The USC Salkehatchie Indians baseball team was looking to Sunday's double-header as a chance to bounce back from Saturday's sweep by Florence-Darlington Technical College. Today, wasn't much better but the Indians did manage to win one game, it would lose the four game series 3-1.

On Sunday in game one, the Indians won 2-1 in a low scoring affair. It was said to be a pitching affair but again, I don't have much information from the games.

In the fourth and final game of the series, the Indians would fall for the third time in the weekend series.

The Indians were only able to muster 8-runs in the series, while the Indians pitching allowed 15-runs.

The over-all record for the Indians now stands at 13-12 and they are 8-6 in Region X play.
