The USC Salkehatchie Indians fell Monday night on the road against Middle Georgia College 84-70. The Indians struggled again from the free throw line going 23-37. "We have to stop beating ourselves. I have tried to make the guys understand if we cut down on turnovers and hit free-throws, no game we have been in this year, is even close," said USC Salkehatchie head coach Travis Garrett.
With last night's loss, the Indians fall to 1-6 on the season. They will be back in action on Wednesday against East Georgia College. Wednesday's game will be a rematch from a game last week, in which the Indians fell 85-84 in a heart breaker.
Coach Garrett said, "We have to start competing at a much higher level. I understand we have a lot of freshman learning the system but we also have a fair share of sophomores that have to step their game up."
Leading the Indians against Middle Georgia was,
Bradley Smith with 19 points and 7 rebounds
Darnell Jackson and Chris Rhodes finished with 14 and 12 points respectively.
