Gary Owens joined the Freedom in June of 2013 and is seeing his first
action in the Frontier League. Owens spent the 2012 season with the
Roswell Invaders of the Pecos League, another independent league. He
appeared in 32 games for the Invaders, hitting .268 with one home run an
16 RBI. The Greenville, Sc. native played collegiality at USC Salkehatchie before going to Southern
Polytechnic State University in Marietta, Ga.
