USC Salkehatchie sophomore Brandon Riley signs with South Carolina State University

USC Salkehatchie sophomore Brandon Riley has produced a year of firsts for USC Salkehatchie. Riley became the first USC Salkehatchie basketball player to win Region X player of the year, he became the first USC Salkehatchie basketball player to be named to the NJCAA All-American team and today he became the first basketball player to sign with a division 1 school.

Riley from Eatonton, Georgia decided to go with South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, South Carolina this morning. It was a decision he made because he wanted to stay near home and SC State felt like a family.

USC Salkehatchie head coach Travis Garrett said, " South Carolina State University did a great recruiting Brandon. They were one of the first school's to show interest in him from the beginning before he had the great year he just experienced. The coaches at South Carolina State feel like Brandon is the missing piece of the puzzle that will help them win the MEAC and get back to the NCAA tournament."
Riley was talking with several school's both in state and out of state about becoming a member of their program before deciding on South Carolina State University.
Brandon becomes the fourth USC Salkehatchie sophomore basketball player to sign with a school this season.

Coach Garrett said that another player signing is expected this afternoon, once we get the word I will post on www.uscsalkindians.blogspot.com
