Former Indian Darnell Jackson

Jackson Named LSC Defensive Player of the Week
RICHARDSON, Texas _ West Texas A&M senior guard Darnell Jackson has been named the Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week announced on Tuesday afternoon by the conference's office in Richardson, Texas.
Jackson has stepped into a starting role for his first and only season at West Texas A&M as the senior guard averaged 10.5 points and a team leading 8.0 rebounds in WT's wins against CSU-Pueblo and Oklahoma Christian this past weekend to pick up MVP honors at the 29th annual Al Kaly Shriners' Classic in Pueblo, Colorado.

The Savannah, Georgia native registered eight rebounds in each game to go along with a team leading 12 assists and four steals on the weekend. Jackson found teammate Kennon Washington open in the corner for a game winning three as time expired on Friday night as the Buffs topped CSU-Pueblo in their home opener.

Hottest Holiday Season

Good day Salk mates! Thanksgiving has come and gone, while Christmas and New Years are fast approaching. Temperatures are sitting right around 32 degrees, perfect conditions for a white Christmas. Guess again! I'm talking about 32 degrees Celsius, and it's only getting warmer. Although this will not be the typical cold winter Christmas season spent with family and friends back in the States, the temperature is not the only thing heating up! Port Adelaide Magpies are climbing the SABL ladder and are sitting in second.

On another note, I took a visit to Cleland Park in the hills of Adelaide. Got to walk amongst the wildlife and feed the animals.
Cheers
