Indians fall to SMC and Florence Darlington Tech in Region X softball tournament

The Indians knew that being the 7th seed going to the Region X tournament it was going to be a tough road to the Region championship. The Indians would get the #1 seed Spartanburg Methodist college Pioneers in game 1. The Indians would get on the board with one run in the first inning but would be unable to score again. The Pioneers drove in 9-runs in five innings to earn the 9-1 victory.

On Saturday the Indians would face Florence Darlington Technical College. The Indians played one of their best games of the season and lead 1-0 going to the bottom of the 7th inning. The Indians made several key errors in the final inning and Florence Darlington would end up scoring two runs for the win.

"It was a tough loss, we have to cut down on making the same errors in key situations next season," said Coach Slawson-Matthews.

Aiken Technical College would go on to become this year's Region X champion.
