The USC Salkehatchie Indians went into the 2012 Region X
tournament as the #8 seed and not many were giving them a chance against the #1 seed
Florence Darlington Technical College. The Indians jumped out to a 7-3 lead
after six innings. The Indians would lead 7-3 going to the bottom of the ninth
inning. Florence Darlington clawed their way back within one run, 7-6. With one
out, the next batter hit a three run home run to give Florence Darlington a 9-7 victory.
In the Indians next game they faced USC Lancaster, the
Indians would come out fighting by taking an early lead but in the end they
were unable to hold the lead, the final was USC Lancaster 12, USC Salkehatchie
