Salk Alum Darius Osby's bat on fire

Orangeburg, S.C.-Darius Osby hit two home runs as Claflin defeated Morris College, 14-4, in a non-conference baseball game. With the win the Panthers improves to 16-14 overall.
Osby finished the game with three runs off three hits and six RBI’s. Reginald Rodgers and Wendell Ferguson also scored three runs each while Jalen Thompson and Sixto Guerrero both crossed the plate twice. Dezmond Moore, who pitched six innings, was credited with the win.
Claflin jumped out quickly on Morris, putting up five runs in the bottom of the first to take a 5-0 lead. Osby first homerun came in the bottom of the third and was immediately followed by a homerun from Johnny Stevenson to give the Panthers the 7-0 lead. Morris scored two runs off two hits and two Panther errors in the top of the fourth to cut the deficit back to five, 7-2. Osby hit his second homerun, a three-run shot in the bottom of the fourth to give the Panthers a commanding 10-2 lead. Claflin would put up two additional runs in the bottom of the fourth to increase its lead to 12-2. Morris managed to put up one run in the fifth and one in the seventh, but allowed the Panthers to put up one run in each of the fifth and seventh as well to take the 14-4 victory in seven innings.
Rene Leon, Jr., Jared Holloman, Ryan Graham and Anthony Jackson all scored one run for Morris. Jackson was the losing pitcher in the contest.
