USC Salkehatchie powers by Denmark Technical College 88-71 to extend streak to 12


The USC Salkehatchie Indians traveled up highway 78 to Denmark Technical College for a huge Region X rivalry game.


The Indians started slow, falling behind early by 9-points, at the 3:59 mark in the first half, the Indians took their first lead 34-30 and never trailed again.


The Indians would take a 45-31 lead in locker room.


In the second half, it was all Indians as they lead by 30-points mid-way in the half. In the end, the Indians would earn the win 88-71.


"I was pleased with how we came into this hostile environment and keep our composure, it is a tough place to play. We executed our plays tonight and we have really come together as a team. I have expressed to the guys we need to take one game at a time. I know that a lot of people getting excited about winning streaks but we had one goal to start the season, to win the region," said USC Salkehatchie head coach Travis Garrett.


The win extends the Indians winning streak to twelve games, they are now 13-10 on the season. They are 5-0 in Region X and in first place in the Region.


The Indians will face Cape Fear Community College at home this Friday night, tip off is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
