They would get things together before the end of the half, with the score tied 28-28 at the half.
"We never came out and played with authority early on, it was like we were going through the motions. I thought after we talked in the locker room, we would come out and play a better half," said USC Salkehatchie head coach Travis Garrett.
It wouldn't come to pass for the Indians as Middle Georgia would jump out to an early 46-36 lead in the second half.
The Indians had a chance with just until 6:00 minutes left in the contest, trailing 53-51.
After that it was all Middle Georgia down the stretch, the would pull away as the final was Middle Georgia 70, USC Salkehatchie 59.
The Indians fall to 9-6 on the season, they will be back in action January 13th as they start Region X play against USC Sumter in Sumter, South Carolina.
"We didn't play our game tonight, it was a very disappointing game from a coaching standpoint. I hope the guys will learn from tonight and understand that you have to play with intensity and focus each game. I have preached this over and over, no one is going to lay down for you and let you win," said Coach Garrett.
