There is no place like home~ USC Salkehatchie 91, Middle Georgia 67

The Indians started the season 10-2 and things seemed to be rolling right along, that is until the last five games, "We just hit a point on the extended road trip where the guys got tired and weary. I knew it was a long time to be on the road when the schedule came out but I also knew in the long run it would make us stronger," said USC Salkehatchie head coach Travis Garrett.

The Indians 10-7 on the season would face Middle Georgia State at home and from the opening tip-off things would go the Indians way. The Indians lead throughout the first half, taking a 52-31 lead in the locker room.

"We came out and executed tonight, I told the guys in the locker room prior to the game that this is our house and we have to set the tempo at home. I was pleased with the play of Denzel Collins tonight he was a leader on the court and the other guys followed," said Garrett.

In the second half it was again smooth sailing for the Indians offense as they would add another 39 points. Coach Garrett would be able to get many reserve players playing time, "It is always good for any program to get their young players on the court. We have some talent on the bench and I hope the fans got a glimpse of the future tonight," said Garrett.

When the final buzzer went off, the Indians would get the victory with a 91-76 final score over Middle Georgia. Tonight marks the last time these two schools will meet as Middle Georgia State will go to the NAIA next season.

The Indians are now 11-7 on the season and will be back in action at home on Friday against SC Sports Academy at 7:00 pm.
