Indians come up short in bid for first ever Region X championship game~

The USC Salkehatchie Indians women's soccer team came up short in their bid to become the first ever women's soccer team to reach the Region X championship game. The Indians advanced last season to the semi-finals but were beat by Louisburg College.

This season the Indians came out with intensity and fire right from the opening minute. The score at the half was 0-0 and would remain that way through regulation.

In the first over-time, neither team was able to score despite both teams having several shots on goal. In the 110 minute, SMC was driving on goal when a foul was called, a free kick later gave the Pioneers the win and a chance to compete for the Region X championship against host Cape Fear Community College.

The Indians finish the season with an overall record of 7-10-4 and 5-6-1 in Region X.

Congratulations to the USC Salkehatchie Lady Indians soccer team on a fine season!
