USC Salkehatchie Indians earn 7th straight victory with win over Middle Georgia~




The USC Salkehatchie Indians went into the half trailing by four, 41-37, not an unfamiliar spot over the past several games. The Indians would fall behind 50-39 with 15:38 left in the second half and from that point on, they inched closer and closer. The Indians would get their first lead of the game with 5:49 left 64-62.




As the game went back and forth in the final 5 minutes, the Indians would take one final lead 70-69 with 11:3 left in the game. Middle Georgia had the ball and with 2.4 seconds left missed a 3-pointer, after the shot the officials met and determined there was .06 seconds left in the contest. Middle Georgia Tay Mallory which was 6 of 7 in the 3-point determined missed a long 3-pointer to end the game.


"Just when I began to think we were not playing hard, the guys surprised me. I will take that type of team effort every night. It was a great team effort, we just need for it to continue as we head into Region play," said USC Salkehatchie head coach Travis Garrett.

The Indians start Region X play next Thursday at HOME against Denmark Technical College at 7:00 pm.




The Indians are now 7-10 on the season.
