Former USC Salkehatchie Indian having big summer in Southern Collegiate baseball league~

For the second time in three weeks, Carlos Santana (Santo Domingo, D.R.)was named the Player of the Week.
Santana is currently second in the league in RBIs after he drove in seven runs this weekend to get to 17 overall, trailing Lake Norman’s Ryan Stetson by four. Friday was Santana’s big day as he followed a 2-3 Game 1 at the Carolina Chaos with a 3-4 Game 2 including a three-run home run, a double and four total RBIs. He drove in a run in each game against Morganton, helping Tennessee sweep the doubleheader 4-3 and 7-3.

Santana’s 17 RBIs lead the team, along with his 24 overall hits, .552 slugging percentage and perfect 9-9 stolen base record. He’s tied for the most home runs with two, and his .358 is second behind Kenny Stalls’ .368. Santana also has five doubles, a triple and 12 runs scored.
Congratulations to Carlos Santana and the entire USC Salkehatchie athletic department is proud of his accomplishments so far this summer.
Carlos will attend Tusculum College( Greeneville, Tenn.) and play baseball next season.
