USC Salkehatchie looks to break winless streak this weekend.


AMERICUS — South Georgia Tech will host the Jets Classic this weekend with familiar foes making appearances.For the third-straight season, Gulf Coast (Fla.) and USC-Salkehatchie will play in the two-day tournament, along with conference foe Waycross.


“I think there will be four quality games, especially with Salkehatchie being winless,” said Jets coach Steven Wright.Salkehatchie is 0-4 while the other three teams are unbeaten. Gulf Coast is 3-0, Waycross is 4-0, and the Jets won their opener 93-49 against Middle Georgia Tech on Nov. 2.

Salkehatchie and Waycross will play the opener at 6 p.m. with SGTC and Gulf Coast playing the nightcap at 8 p.m.


On Saturday, Waycross and Gulf Coast will play at 2 p.m., and the Jets will play Salkehatchie at 4 p.m.


The Jets lost 84-78 and 80-71 to Salkehatchie and Gulf Coast last season.
