USC Salkehatchie women drop first game of season 3-0 to SMC

On one of the hottest days we have experienced this year in Allendale, South Carolina the USC Salkehatchie women's soccer team fell 3-0 to Spartanburg Methodist College.

"We have been fighting a virus all week but our girls came out and played hard today. In this heat, I was impressed they played as hard as they did with how they were feeling," said head coach Bill Glass.

SMC first got on the scoreboard with 19:44 left in the half, the score would remain 1-0 at the half.

In the second half, SMC added 2 more goals late to earn a 3-0 victory.

The Lady Indians fall to 1-1 on the season and 1-1 in Region X play.

They will be back in action Wednesday September 7th against another Region X opponent Cape Fear CC at HOME. The game is slated to start at 4:00 pm.
