It was an exciting time today on the east campus of USC Salkehatchie, all the buzz was for The University of South Carolina, President Dr. Harris Pastides and his wife Patricia Moore-Pastides.
The president and his wife arrived on campus around 11:30 am today and their first order of business was to meet the new students for 2008-2009. After meeting all the students, president Pastides visited our bookstore on campus and purchased a USC Salkehatchie baseball shirt.
He and his wife then traveled over to the education building conference room where they enjoyed lunch with local civic leaders and members of the USC family. President Pastides spoke after lunch to those in attendance, ," USC Salkehatchie is a vital part of the USC system. When I speak of The University of South Carolina, it encompasses all of the schools within our system," said President Pastides.
They then left for the library building where they enjoyed an afternoon reception. USC Salkehatchie is proud to have the backing of our new president and his wife. It was a great day to be a part of the University of South Carolina "Family".
