USC Salkehatchie Men's soccer team earns tie, Lady Indians fall

The Salkehatchie men’s and women’s soccer teams traveled to Barnesville, GA on Tuesday to play Gordon College. In the men’s game the score was knotted at 2-2 after 90 minutes of regulation so two 10-minute overtimes were played. In the absence of a golden goal by either team during OT, the match went into the books as a draw. "One of our players was sent off midway through the first half so we played a man down for the remainder of regulation plus two overtimes, " said USC Salkehatchie Head Soccer Coach Bill Glass, "Gordon used their advantage to build a 2-1 lead but we equalized with about twenty minutes left in regulation and that was it."
The Lady Indians would fall to Gordon college by a final score of 3-1.
