Lady Indians Fall to Georgia Military in both games of double-header

The USC Salkehatchie Lady Indians fell twice to Georgia Military in a double header played in Allendale, South Carolina.

In game one, sophomore Cea Knox held the Lady Bulldogs scoreless striking out five batters through six innings.

However, in the top of the seventh, the Lady Bulldogs were able to get on the scoreboard after their lead-off batter hit a double off the center field wall. Their next batter got a sacrifice bunt to move the runner to third.

Knox, struck out the next batter but one batter later and the Lady Bulldogs drew first blood with a triple that scored the runner on third.

After retiring the next two batters, the Lady Indians came to the plate.

Jenna Nichols in her first college plate appearance struck out, leaving Aylssa Chambers and Cea Knox to get something going for the Lady Indians.

Chambers hit a double off the center field wall. Cea Knox who has been known for a strong bat, hit a deep ball that appeared to be headed out the ballpark, off the top of the wall scoring Chambers.

The Lady Indians were unable to bring Knox home and the score was 1-1 and we were headed to extra innings.

The Lady Bulldogs scored another run in the eighth and the Lady Indians were unable to respond. The final score was Georgia Military 2, USC Salkehatchie 1.

In game two it looked as we could be headed to another extra inning game but in the fourth inning, the Lady Bulldogs of Georgia Military scored three runs to take the lead.

The Lady Indians would respond in the fifth inning by scoring one run.
There would be no more scoring in the contest.

The final score was Georgia Military 3, USC Salkehatchie 1.
