USC Salkehatchie held it's annual "First Pitch" dinner last night with former USC Salkehatchie/MLB pitcher Joe Winkelsas as the guest speaker.
Winkelsas spoke to the crowd of over 100-people about his time at USC Salkehatchie and in the majors leagues. He told the crowd he was thankful for all the USC Salkehatchie "Family" did in helping him succeed in life.
The dinner which consisted of BBQ, hash, rice, cole-slaw and peach cobbler was provided by Buzzy Bunch of Bamberg, South Carolina.
Before speaking, Winkelsas was surprised by being announced as the charter member of the USC Salkehatchie athletic hall-of-fame member.
USC Salkehatchie will announce a new member to the athletic-hall-0f-fame before the start of each baseball season, during the annual "First Pitch" dinner.
