The USC Salkehatchie Indians defeated Waycross College in the final game of the Holiday Classic. The Indians came out in the first half with intensity and it showed on the court with the Indians outscoring Waycross 38-8 in the final 10-minutes of the first half.
"We came out and played our game early and set the tone. It was a great effort on defense and that opened up oppurtunties on offense," said USC Salkehatchie head coach Travis Garrett.
The Indians would lead at the half, 47-22.
In the second half, things were pretty much the same as the Indians cruised to a
win over Waycross College. The Indians lead by 20 or more points the entire second half.
USC Salkehatchie head coach Travis Garrett was pleased with his team's overall proformance," We came out and dominated from the opening whistle and I am pleased with the way we got back on transition defense. I know we are capable of playing like this every game if we will execute like we did today. I am a little concerned with the way we came out the second half, we were flat but we picked up the tempo as it went on."
Waycross head coach Cory Baldwin said after the loss, "It was a tough game and they did a good job. We were out rebounded and they scored a little more than they should have."
