USC Salkehatchie earns first home victory of the season against Johnson County CC

The USC Salkehatchie came in tonight's game desperately looking for a win, the Indians were 1-9. The Indians without Louisiana Lafitte commitment Darnell Jackson, would need the other players to step up and they got just that. Sophomore Donnie James would light up the score board in the first half, throwing down 14. The Indians lead at the half, 38-31.

In the second half it was much of the same, the Indians would lead the entire game and used their quickness to retain the lead. Sophomore Nate Drayton was the star of the show for the Indians offense, scoring 22-points with 20-rebounds and 4-steals.

" We came out tonight and did what I have been looking for all season. I knew we are capable but until tonight we haven't showed it. I was pleased with the way we controlled the basketball and cut down on our turnovers, I'll have to look but I think we only had 5 or 6 all game. I want to come out tomorrow night with the same intensity and effort, we had fun tonight," said USC Salkehatchie head coach Travis Garrett.
