Indians start Region X play with a win over Cape Fear 80-69

The USC Salkehatchie Indians entered tonight's contest against Cape Fear Community College with an overall record of 6-10, while Cape Fear was 10-2 on the season.

USC Salkehatchie head coach Travis Garrett knew he would have to get his team to play hard, " We can win this game but we have to be focused and ready to play. We got embarrassed on Wednesday night against Middle Georgia and if we don't play hard against Cape Fear, we could get embarrassed again."

The Indians started out in trouble against Cape Fear on Friday night the Indians were down by double-digits at the half. The Indians would rely on strong performancesin the second half from several players to get the win, the Indians start the 2009-2010 Region X play with a 1-0 record.

The Indians got a big night out of sophomore Brandon Riley, he scored a team high 33 points, the most by any player in a single game this season to lead the Indians.

Darnell Jackson added 14-points, while Mari Konate (France) added a season high 9-points.

The Indians now 7-10 on the season will try and get to 2-0 in Region X play tomorrow night against Brunswick Community College (10-4) in Supply, North Carolina.

Once I get the score, I will post it on the blog.
