Recently USC Salkehatchie men's head coach Bill Glass traveled to the central Georgia city of McDonough where he signed Spencer Lauderdale to play for the Salkehatchie Indians. Lauderdale played club soccer with the Concord Black South team that won the Norcross Nike Cup and the Charlotte Invitational Tournament in 2008. Prior to that, Lauderdale travelled with the Henry County Thunder club team for seven years. At Ola High School Lauderdale was recently named Defensive Player of the Year by Men’s Soccer Coach Dale Hermann.
“I am pleased to be able to sign Spencer Lauderdale to add to the Florida club players who signed earlier this spring,” said Glass, “these Georgia and Florida guys will blend in well with the home grown South Carolina talent we will have on the squad and with the internationals.”
