The USC Salkehatchie Indians softball team split today with Mercyhurst NE in Allendale, South Carolina.
In game one, the Indians trailed 1-0 headed to the top of the 7th but Mercyhurst added 4 runs to take a 5-0 lead going into the bottom of the 7th. The Indians were unable to get anything going and the game ended 5-0.
Sam Martin took the loss for the Indians.
In game two, the Indians won by a final of 6-4, Leigha Hite earned the win on the mound.
Leading the Indians at the plate wa Alyssa Chambers 2-4 with a double, Symone Nettles 3-4 with 2 doubles, Amanda Karn was 2-3 and Leigha Hite also addeda double.
The Indians game scheduled for Friday has been cancelled, they will be back in action Mar 6 - 1/3pm vs. Wake Tech College in Allendale, SC.
The Indians are now 8-10 overall and 4-0 in Region X play.
