Indians (Baseball) play well but fall twice to Pitt Community College


The USC Salkehatchie Indians baseball team played well today but lost the first two games of their four game series with Pitt Community College

In game one, the Indians trailed 1-0 through six innings but in the top of the 7th, the Bulldogs would score 2-more runs to make the score 3-0 headed into the bottom of the 7th. In the bottom of the 7th, the Indians would threaten as they scored 1-run but left two on base to lose the game by a final score of 3-1.

In game one, the Indians out hit Pitt CC 7-4 but left many players on base and against a very good team like the Bulldogs that is hard to overcome.


On the mound for the Indians-sophomore Breylon Emory (North Augusta, SC) took the loss for the Indians. He ends the season with a 2-5 overall record.


For the Bulldogs, Daniel Martin (Sanford, North Carolina) got the win, he goes to 7-1 on the season.


In game two, the game was tied 1-1 going into the top of the6th, it was then the Bulldogs would score two runs on an errant throw to third baseball sophomore Oliver Santos by Indians pitcher sophomore Ali Williams. The Bulldogs would go on to score 1 more in the top of the 6th and lead 4-1 headed to the bottom of the 6th.


Sophomore Ali Williams took the loss for the Indians in game two he finishes his season with a record of 5-5.

In the top of the 7th, the Bulldogs would add 2-more runs and in the bottom of the inning, the Indians were unable to respond and the final score was Pitt CC 6, USC Salkehatchie 1.

The Indians are now 23-27 overall and 13-17 in Region X.


The #18 Bulldogs improve to 31-6 overall and 21-6 in Region X.


The Indians and Bulldogs will meet up again tomorrow for the final two games of the series, the first pitch is scheduled to be thrown at 12:00 noon.
