LAURINBURG, NC - Junior right-handed pitcher Cea Knox registered two wins on the mound and four hits, a home run, and three RBIs at the plate as Francis Marion University swept a non-conference softball doubleheader from St. Andrews Presbyterian College, 6-2 and 11-3, on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 27).
Francis Marion improves to 10-4, while the Knights drop to 3-10. The Patriots return to Peach Belt Conference play on Sunday with a 12 noon doubleheader at USC Aiken.


In game one, Knox entered the game in relief and pitched 4.2 innings, allowing only one hit and no runs. She struck out four and walked no one. At the plate, she was 3-for-3.


Right fielder Tristan Faile was 2-for-4 with a pair of runs batted in and second baseman Ashley Jaramillo was 1-for-2 with two RBIs.


Down 2-1, Knox tied the game in the fourth inning with her RBI-single. The Patriots scored three times in the fifth, highlighted by Faile's 2-run single, and Knox hit a solo homer in the seventh frame.
