Lady Indians Back on track after two wins against Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina

The USC Salkehatchie Lady Indians must feel as they are back on track after two strong wins against NCAA Division II Benedict College today in Columbia, South Carolina.

In game one of the double-header, the Lady Indians defeated the Lady Tigers 12-2 with sophomore-Katie Henderson ( Rock Hill, South Carolina) on the mound. The Lady Indians jumped out to an early lead as they got their bats going early.
USC Salkehatchie head coach Mitch Smith said, " I was extremly happy to see our team come out today and rebound from a tough weekend. It was great to see them begin to gel as a team and understand that when you work together, great things happen. It was a great showing and every player on this team should be proud of themselves."

In game two, pitcher sophomore Cea Knox (Myrtle Beach, South Carolina) went for the Lady Indians on the mound and she pitched the best game of her career and the best game in school history. On Saturday, she was hit in her pitching arm by a line-drive and it was questionable whether she would be able to pitch in today's game. However, as game time arrived, she came with her A-game and threw the first no-hitter in school history.
"Today's proformance by Cea Knox was one that I as a coach will never forget. It was a great pitching moment but what made it better was the way the team played around here and rallied around her. It was an overall team no-hitter and that is something as a coach, I can't describe the pride it brought. I have to say that today made me understand that this group of girls give their all and that is all I have ever asked of them, if they continue on this path, the sky is the limit," said USC Salkehatchie head coach Mitch Smith.
The Lady Indians would win it's second contest of the day by a final score of 9-0.

The Lady Indians are now 8-10 on the season and 2-0 in Region X.
