USC Salkehatchie men's basketball team gets one step closer to Region X title hopes with win over Aiken Technical College

The USC Salkehatchie men's basketball team headed to Aiken Technical College in Aiken, South Carolina tonight with one goal in mind-MUST WIN!!

USC Salkehatchie head coach Travis Garrett said, "I told the guys it didn't matter what the other teams that are tied with us for first place do, we have to win."

In the last game with Aiken Tech back on January 14th it took over-time to determine a winner as both teams, were face paced and running the court at will. The final score in their first match-up in overtime was USC Salkehatchie 84, USC Aiken 79.

In tonight's game, Aiken Tech had a game plan to try and slow down the Indians face paced offense but the Indians were able to overcome and win the game, 60-51.

"They tried to slow down our style as a fast paced offense and it worked for a while but in the end, we were able to overcome it and win the game. We have some unfinished business tomorrow night against Spartanburg Methodist at home, said USC Salkehatchie head coach Travis Garrett.
The Indians faced Spartanburg Methodist in Spartanburg, South Carolina earlier in the season, at the half they lead by 18-points 37-19.
After the loss to Spartanburg Methodist earlier in the season USC Salkehatchie head coach Travis Garrett said, " I told the kids at half-time that we had to come out prepared to play hard. I had watched the film of the Pioneers against Aiken Tech earlier in the season in which they were down 20-points at the half and almost came back and won. I knew this could happen if we didn't stay focused."
In their first match-up Spartanburg Methodist won by a final score of 63-57.

The Indians will be at home against Spartanburg Methodist in Walterboro, South Carolina tomorrow night, tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
