The USC Salkehatchie Indians men's basketball team is in a fight for the Region X regular season title for the second year in a row. In coach Travis Garrett's third season, he has proven once again that he knows how to gather talent.
When the season started not many people predicted that the Indians would be a contender for the Regular season title, "We knew we had a pretty special team after several practices but I wouldn't have bet we would have had a shot a being the top team at the start of the season. I am proud of this team, they have struggled at times but in the end they find a way to win," said coach Garrett.
The Indians will face Region X rival Cape Fear Community College tonight at 7:00 pm in Walterboro, South Carolina. The teams teams met earlier this season and after going back and forth, the Indians found a way to get the victory 80-69.
"We will have to have our A game tonight against Cape Fear they have a very good team and I know we will have to play mistake free to get the win. I always tell the guys if you do the little things, good things will happen," said Coach Garrett.
