Indians drop tough Region X contest against Clinton Jr. College 81-73

The USC Salkehatchie Indians came into tonight's contest against Clinton Jr. College needing a win to stay in the hunt for 2nd place in the region. The Indians lead early and it looked as though they would have a comanding lead going into the half.

However at the half, it was Clinton Jr. College that would take a 40-35 lead in the locker room

"We didn't do the things we go over everday in practice, when you don't execute you have no one to blame but yourself," said USC Salkehatchie head coach Travis Garrett.

In the second half, Clinton Jr. College came out and lead throughout the half as the Indians tried everything to claw it's way back into the contest.

The Indians would again close in with 1:40 left in the game 75-69 but it would be too little, too late.

Clinton Jr. College held on for a 81-73 victory.

"I am not happy with how we have played the past two games, we have to become more focused as we finish the season and heading into the Region X tournament. I'll be the first to admit, right now we aren't a very good basketball team. I told the kids tonight after the loss, we will see what this team is made of," said coach Garrett.
