USC Salkehatchie men's basketball cruises past Laurinburg Institute

The USC Salkehatchie men's basketball team cruised past Laurinburg Institute last night in Walterboro, South Carolina.

The Indians came out on fire as they took an early 19-0 lead with 16:02 left in the first half.

They would continue to lead throughout the game but Laurinburg would claw their way back into the contest at the half, USC Salkehatchie lead 47-36.
The Indians were only able to produce two points in the last 4:45 of the first half.
"I am upset with the way we played, we don't understand that if you get a lead you need to choke the other team out. We don't understand what the knock-out blow is, we continue to allow teams to come back," said USC Salkehatchie head coach Travis Garrett.

It was somewhat better in the second half as the Indians never let their lead slip away but they did experience several scares before pulling away for a 90-70 victory.
Head coach Travis Garrett, " We won, that is about it. If we play like we have the past 5-games, we will be one and done."
The Indians will be back in action Wednesday night against Aiken Technical College at home in Walterboro, South Carolina. We will have sophomore night to recognise our sophomore players.
